Chunky Monkey

So here is "chunk" as he's called. The funny thing he's anything but a chunk. Cute, but NOT a chunk!

Just a 2 hour flight

I have to say thank you to "Auntie Jo" as she's known around here. She came visit for a week and I loved every minute of it. This was probably the easiest time we've had together. The kids played so well and we just took it really easy by not making any plans. I don't know if that was by intent, or default, but it worked out great. If you haven't heard, lines are up to 2 hours long when you can actually find a gas station here with gas (although we managed to find a line that was only 2 minutes long. Yay!!). It's INSANE! So we decided to conserving the fuel we had would be the best option. We ventured out the last day to Burt's Pumpkin patch but I'll post more later. I just wanted to make sure and say

Thank you

to Jo for getting on a plane with two kids while prego, just to hang out with me! You're the best!

1~ My internal clock happens to wake up at 10p.m. every night.. on the dot. I could be asleep and I will actually wake up at 10.
2~ I didn't learn how to say salsa correctly until college. I have Matt to thank for that one!
3~ I never wanted to be a stay at home mom. Who would have thought it would be one of the things I love the most!
4~ I am kind of an organize freak. I just re-organized my batteries yesterday. As if they weren't already!
5~ I DON'T like to talk in the morning. It's just too much, I need a little more time to wake up.
6~ My hands and feet are ALWAYS cold, unless I'm pregnant of course!

So we got to go swimming on Saturday for the last day of the summer. Our pool is officially closed until next year. The saddest part is that we only got to go about 4 times this year. Last year we were there atleast 4 out of the 7 days. Looks like we may have to join an indoor pool.

I got this new filter for use around water... and I think it was a little late in the day to use it, because most of the pictures were a little dark. O-well, any practice is good!

and yes, I do know there is a butt in the background...do you think I should have asked her to move it?

A project

I am working on a project for Abbott. Here are a couple from the first set, but still a work in progress.

Working on some of that skill

We finally got the new basketball hoop up and Bug couldn't be happier. That's the first thing he does when he gets home, and would he would be more than happy to stay out there until bed time. Okay, well that might be a slight exaggeration, but not too much! And he's actually pretty consistent on the shots. Way to go kid!

Seeing red

I can't believe it's been nearly a week! I seem to go in streaks around here. Not much has been going on either. Just busy with life. I've been working on a commissioned project and happened to get a few cute ones of the kids. Too bad the background of Nutmegs looks like a rug!

He's found his sport

Since he doesn't have a competetive bone in his body, it doesn't seem to matter how much he likes to play basketball (or any other sport for that matter) he won't fight hard enought for a chance at the ball. Then came tennis. His own side of the court, and no immediate competition. He begs to go every free chance he gets... which his dad loves since he too was a tennis player. Besides, what better excuse to get to hang out without the girls!

I was wishing the court next to them wasn't being used, so I could sneak in and get some pictures of them playing, but all the courts were full. So I had to shoot these from across the court next to them, on the outside of the fence. Got some okay ones though... and I'm sure I'll be begging the girls to sit through another practice so I can have another chance!

There's a first for everything

And I guess this was our weekend:
Our first camping trip with the whole family = very little sleep.

Ase actually sitting down for a meal.

Nutmeg holding a bug of any type. And when she did, she really latched on. She cried for quite a while when this little guy finally jumped off...

Daddy getting "stuck" with Ase for more than 24 hours. She wanted nothing to do with me!

And finally, rock climbing and repelling. We harnessed the kids in and everything. I've been dying to do this forever, but now the kids are getting old enough we can actually make this happen. And they all want to do it again. Yea!

(can I just say I love taking pictures of her....)

Of course Ase couldn't really go up, there isn't a harness small enough for her.. but she was more than happy to just hang there and swing herself. She LOVED hanging there, and upside down was even better!
