Genuine happiness

Of all the luck to have for our 3 days in Florida... It rained for 2 of those! It's a good thing we went to the beach the very first day, because that was the last chance we would have. And even then, we had to leave because the rain started to fall before we were wanting to be done (hence very poor quality of photos because it was so dark outside). Atleast it was warm. Very warm, and windy. Very windy. But even that small amount of time was worth it. Nutmeg would never get near the water. We've been to Florida a couple of times this summer, and she would not get near the waves. Wanted NOTHING to do with them, even if we tried to hold her. Somehow though, through the magic of granparents... Nutmeg was in the water. Her and Pa ran in and out of the waves. Something we've tried many times to do with her, but it took someone else for her to be brave enough.

I loved watching her out there. I loved that it was my dad, the one who taught me these same games, to be the one out there teaching her. It was perfect.

Thank you Pa.

Even if only in a dream

So I'm really tired tonight, but someone (whom I won't mention names, hehem Adrienne...)pointed out it's been a long time since I posted. It hasn't been that long, but it has been a bit. So here are a couple pictures to tide you over until tomorrow. We were able to go to Florida with my parents this last week.. hence the beach. But we'll save all that until I'm not mis-typing every other word.
Good night. And dream of warm, sunny beaches......

She wants to be

a Rock Star!

She dresses in the craziest outfits every day. She has really decided to take this whole thing rather serious. I don't know if she's going to start some pretty rockin trends when she gets older... or if she is going to have to hire a stylist. Either way, she turns heads where ever she goes. The other day we went to pick up Bug from school and man, I wish I would have taken a picture.

Purple tutu dance costume.
Pink terrycloth pants.
Gold silk shirt.
Arm warmers.
Streaked blue hair.
Pink Headband.
Ugg Boots.
and
A huge yellow purse that looks like a duck (really an easter basket).
And don't forget she carries a microphone with here everywhere she goes!

Yup, it was, um, cute! But I do hope her lack of caring what others think doesn't end. Because, she really doesn't care.... for now.

One of those days I suppose

I feel about like this.

No reason. Plenty have a reason to feel like this (heather *wink*), but I don't.

I think I'm just tired. Maybe a good night's sleep is all I need. I'll work on that. Tonight perhaps.

It's that time of year

When my sister was out we made a point to go to the pumpkin patch here. It was fun, I only wish Bug had been able to go with us. He was in school. Poor thing.
The girls weren't in the best mood, so getting any pictures was rough. Hopefully we'll make one more trip out so Bug can go too (and of course so I can catch some pictures of them). Hopefully whenever we move our new home will have a pumpkin patch close by. Some traditions will be hard to loose.

Caught in the act!

The kids are always in the back yard now. All the kids. The neighbor kids. Friend's kids. Everyone. And I love it! But this time, it was just Ase out there. Can you tell she's pleased?

I know, I know

....you are probably getting sick of me just posting pictures of others... but Autie Jo isn't. I haven't had a chance to send her any of these photos yet, so for now this is how she's getting to see them. Poor girl!

And yes, this may be the last posted group... just maybe! If you honestly knew how many cute shots I got of them then you might understand!

Chunky Monkey

So here is "chunk" as he's called. The funny thing he's anything but a chunk. Cute, but NOT a chunk!

Just a 2 hour flight

I have to say thank you to "Auntie Jo" as she's known around here. She came visit for a week and I loved every minute of it. This was probably the easiest time we've had together. The kids played so well and we just took it really easy by not making any plans. I don't know if that was by intent, or default, but it worked out great. If you haven't heard, lines are up to 2 hours long when you can actually find a gas station here with gas (although we managed to find a line that was only 2 minutes long. Yay!!). It's INSANE! So we decided to conserving the fuel we had would be the best option. We ventured out the last day to Burt's Pumpkin patch but I'll post more later. I just wanted to make sure and say

Thank you

to Jo for getting on a plane with two kids while prego, just to hang out with me! You're the best!

1~ My internal clock happens to wake up at 10p.m. every night.. on the dot. I could be asleep and I will actually wake up at 10.
2~ I didn't learn how to say salsa correctly until college. I have Matt to thank for that one!
3~ I never wanted to be a stay at home mom. Who would have thought it would be one of the things I love the most!
4~ I am kind of an organize freak. I just re-organized my batteries yesterday. As if they weren't already!
5~ I DON'T like to talk in the morning. It's just too much, I need a little more time to wake up.
6~ My hands and feet are ALWAYS cold, unless I'm pregnant of course!

So we got to go swimming on Saturday for the last day of the summer. Our pool is officially closed until next year. The saddest part is that we only got to go about 4 times this year. Last year we were there atleast 4 out of the 7 days. Looks like we may have to join an indoor pool.

I got this new filter for use around water... and I think it was a little late in the day to use it, because most of the pictures were a little dark. O-well, any practice is good!

and yes, I do know there is a butt in the background...do you think I should have asked her to move it?

A project

I am working on a project for Abbott. Here are a couple from the first set, but still a work in progress.

Working on some of that skill

We finally got the new basketball hoop up and Bug couldn't be happier. That's the first thing he does when he gets home, and would he would be more than happy to stay out there until bed time. Okay, well that might be a slight exaggeration, but not too much! And he's actually pretty consistent on the shots. Way to go kid!

Seeing red

I can't believe it's been nearly a week! I seem to go in streaks around here. Not much has been going on either. Just busy with life. I've been working on a commissioned project and happened to get a few cute ones of the kids. Too bad the background of Nutmegs looks like a rug!

He's found his sport

Since he doesn't have a competetive bone in his body, it doesn't seem to matter how much he likes to play basketball (or any other sport for that matter) he won't fight hard enought for a chance at the ball. Then came tennis. His own side of the court, and no immediate competition. He begs to go every free chance he gets... which his dad loves since he too was a tennis player. Besides, what better excuse to get to hang out without the girls!

I was wishing the court next to them wasn't being used, so I could sneak in and get some pictures of them playing, but all the courts were full. So I had to shoot these from across the court next to them, on the outside of the fence. Got some okay ones though... and I'm sure I'll be begging the girls to sit through another practice so I can have another chance!
